How I work

I believe counselling should be a space where you feel safe enough to say things out loud that perhaps you've never said before. My role isn't to give advice or tell you what to do or how you should feel, but to listen, understand your experiences, and help you make sense of them.

Often, simply saying things out loud can help us hear our own thoughts differently. Sometimes you may realise you've been carrying beliefs about yourself that you've never questioned, or notice feelings you hadn't recognised before. I believe that having the space to explore those thoughts safely can be an important part of the counselling process.

I won't rush difficult conversations. We'll spend time building a relationship where you feel comfortable and supported. If and when we explore painful experiences, we'll do so together, at a pace that feels manageable for you.

As we work together, I may gently notice patterns, reflect on something you've said, or wonder whether past experiences help explain how you're feeling today. Sometimes simply noticing those links can help things begin to make more sense.

Every client is different and so I adapt the way I work to suit you.
